It’s over… They ate, they talked, they laughed - we all had a great time - but it’s done - now we have to clean the dishes, clean the floors, count the cash and bust the tables - it’s already past midnight, it’s already the next day - and new people are going to fill the restaurant soon - they need to eat and drink as well. Let’s get ready.

The Western world of the 20th century built “peace”, “stability” and an “economic upswing” for themselves on top of the smoking debris of the World Wars. The horrors – seen and done – gave weight to ideals that gave way to the international institutions like the European Union and United Nations intended to build dialogue, not disparity. The beginning of the 20th century became motivation to try and make a more humane humanity.

We are now 15,75 years into the new century, not to mention the new millennium. The fuel, that the collective trauma of WWI and WWII was, is running out. Attempts at dialogue is dwindling. The common good has become common goods. The world that was once a steamy hot serving of fresh ideology is starting to mold.

Our ravaged Earth is getting warmer and wetter. The financial system is growing larger like a sick heart, demanding more energy with every beat. The European Union is trying to weather the storm of protectionist right wing populism whose only mission is to undo progress. Used to think that “normal” is a car, a steak and a villa each, we are care more about what others shouldn’t have than what we should all fight for together.

Meanwhile non-conservative Politicians and Professionals are already busting the tables and peeling the potatoes for tomorrow's dinner: Basic Income, Rental Economy, Global Citizenship, The Paris Agreement, sustainable technologies, Permaculture, Entomophagy…
Let’s wash the Ford dishes and get ready to serve up some Tesla.
